no, that's actually artistic, doesn't look like it was designed by an art school dropout using MSpaint

I don't think anyonse has seriously considered that as a replacement for US curency.

The thinking has alwas been to maintain the "look" OF US paper money as it is reconized and 'trusted" throughout the world.

The bills pictured are too far a deparure from this.

See but technically, the US and Switzerland are considered First World Countries, and Dubai/Qatar is Third.

First World = US and allies
Second World = Former USSR and allies
Third World = Neutral and non-aligned countries

I dunno, I think we in need of a currency overhaul, the current style seems outdated to me.

so why wouldn't it "happen" here? I think they look 10x better then the typical boring look of the current u.s. currency. Seriously, put some damn color and design into it. That's why I like Candian money, being that I live 20 mins from the border, I see it all of the time. Looks MUCH better in my opinion.

Money is money. It's traded, saved and spent. All "money" has the same function, so form shouldn't be less considered. All money is anyways is a physical representation of a value of a service. I myself prefer the bartering system but hey that's just me.

To me, they look great. They have design and nice use of color. Not just some big ass head on it with a sad excuse of a watermark and poor coloration along with the design as well.

Edit: I agree with you on Dubai's currency being artistic. But remember that they don't use images of people in Islamic culture.

The design is the way it is for a reason, especially the color and watermark.

Love the cartoon Darb, and couldn't agree more with Loren.

As to the bills, I haven't heard anything about it but personally, I don't really care what they look like, I'd rather have them in my wallet than not.

Thank you Loren for basically stating what I was thinking

Paper money (Physical Money) is worthless, and seeing it only makes up 3-4% of the actual money within the US, just think how many times you write a check, or use your debit/credit card. Not exchanging actual money. Multiply that by millions, billions of dollars annually between the population of the US.

It is really backed by nothing. The term "reserve note", or "bank note" is simply nothing more than a promise that you can use this to trade with for goods/services. Thank god the Federal Reserve screwed that up for us, inflating how much money is in circulation, killing the value of the US dollar, and in turn raising the costs on everything from corn, to gas. Yay...nice to see when I am 60 that milk will cost $9.59 a gallon.
