Yes, nursing is hard but the choice is up to you. Some people love nursing and some hate it.. just like how some people love being a mechanic, and some hate it. Another route you could look into is being a physician assistant. There is a high demand for it and you only need to go to school for about 2 years and get a certificate. They do a lot of the things that doctors do and after a bit could even open up their own practice. Good luck to ya.

OK, I'm chiming in from the school of success and life. It doesn't matter what you go to school for as it will not define you or your potential for financial and social happiness. There is one road block to the life you want... and it's YOU! (not you, Kaotic, just the general "YOU").

Is nursing something that will make YOU happy? Then DO IT! Will you be happy tuning cars, then do that! Most millionaires do not have financial fortunes based on their direct skill, talent or education. It's making the money they make work for them.

If there was a course in school that taught this, I would have been an art major! My wife was a nurse for years, and now works in BioTech. She makes an incredible living. She never considered moving from Nursing to sales... so even Nursing is wide-open; staying in the healthcare arena or moving out of it to a related industry.

My best friend did not go to college. I met him here when he was a motorcycle tech at a Ducati dealer I used to sell bikes at. He decided his life was going to be in real estate, so he made that his goal, went about reading and learning, he found investors and saved some money and bought a 32 unit building in Kentucky! This will cash-flow $10,000 a month, and he went back to working on bikes in his garage for $50 an hour while he looks for his next venture!!

Anyhow, the only thing you need to worry about in competitive situations is yourself, not everyone else. I never understood this, but it's true.

There's my pep-talk for you.

i like helping people, and i like cars (very different from each other, lol). i don't really want to be super rich or anything, but i want to earn enough to be able to support my family and put my kids through college (once i have a family).

i dunno, like i said, i'm going to stick to nursing and being a mechanic is my last resort option. i want my options to be something i would actually like doing for a career. heh.

thanks for the pep-talks.
