Passin' The Gas...Station

Relax, that shield isn't going anywhere. It's two pieces of glass with a plastic film in between. It's only cracked on the outside. Take your thumbnail and rub it over the crack and you'll see. Try it on the inside and it's a smooth as new. This is something you do not do on your own. I've seen your other posts and you tend to get into a bit of a jam on all you do. Not a bad thing and I'm not here to judge. Windshields today are structual. They are glued in. They take the hit in a roll over to keep the roof from collapsing right away, they are what the air bag deflects off of to keep the air bag moving in a rearward motion.. In a frontal crash, the airbag on the passenger side actually inflates up and then out useing the shield as a deflector. They use a special adhesive that has to be heated and then it has a drying time before you drive away. I've told customers to leave a window cracked (no pun) while the car is sitting so the adhesive can work. If you airtight the car, the heat will build up in the car and actually pop the shield loose. Just trying to relay that THIS is not a job you want to do yourself to save money. Good luck Chuck
