Carbon Fibre Hatch
Ive seen a few of those Suzuki aeros or whatever there called driving around with the rear hatch black(not sure if its just paint or CF) but either way, what do you guys think about a carbon fibre hatch, anyone with paint or photoshop feel like doing one up and posting it for me? Preferably in the blazing blue metallic, but whatever is fine.

Doesn't Seibon make one for the liftback? I guess not. I don't think it would look right. Not even on the Sedan.

Ya, It might look awkward, but it doesn't look terrible on those Suzuki's. Maybe I'm just weird, since normally I'm not a CF fan.
EDIT: and oh ya, just looked, seibon does make one. |

I personally think it would look better on a Yaris than any other car. There is one available, but it is expensive... around $700.

Ya, thats too much money for something that wouldent save you all that much weight, the rear hatch doesnt weigh too much to begin with I wouldent think, it would be mostly for aesthetic appeal.

But the heaviest part of the hatch is the glass. Steel doesn't weigh that much, especially when companies use 22ga... Galvanized 22ga only weighs 1.5lbs/sf. If its 18ga though, its 2 1/8lb/sf. Theres maybe 10-15lbs of steel in the hatch. But $700 for a CF hatch is a pretty good price ;) |
