couple ways to do this... have her drive around an automatic car suing both feet, 1 for gas, the other for brake...
or sit her in the stick car, she works the clutch you work the gears... or just drop her in the seat, and hold on tight... tell her what to do, when to shift, how to shift, use a large parking lot for starters..she''ll be popping the clutch, and stalling alot, and grinding gears enjoy...

Rent a car, find an empty parking lot and hang on!

my bro taught me how to drive one, what he did was tell me how to shift with the car off at first, then he showed me what happens when u stall out, then he told me to sit in the seat...oohh boy...i stalled out a couple times...but after about 5 tries i got it, then he put me on a hill...that took a while to get, he told me to find that g-spot in the clutch, yall know what i mean, just easing off the clutch little by little, u can tell when ur at it b/c the engine begins to shake but it doesn't stall out, once i found that he told me to do the same with the other foot, after that i was set, its just a coordination thing, plus the only way is trial and error, so expect a lot off stall outs and burning clutch

ever heard of shadow-tennis? have her do shadow-stick-driving...sit her down anywhere (similar in-car position or even in the car), and have her practice "balancing out" with her feet. it works. i was up and driving in like 5 minutes during my first time, without stalling.

or, if she is a bit technically-enclined, you could explain the workings of the clutch and gearbox, it might help her visualize better what is happening... Good luck though... some women and driving just do not mix at all

I actually learned by going to a Car Dealership and telling the guy I was interested in a Mustang GT, but the only reason I couldnt buy it was I didnt know how to drive standard...well needless to say he taught me.
I didnt really get the hang of it until I bought my Yaris and got used to it. Now I get to have all the gear tearing fun at work on our 10spd Semi's!

Actually, the best way to learn to drive a stick is to go buy one. Then it's either learn to drive it, or make monthly payments on a really cool lawn ornament!

LOL! Brick, how old are you? My Dad used to tell me that all the time!
However, upon trying it, I discovered that a tractor and a car don't drive anything alike, or at least not the older tractors. The one I drove had a lever on the dash that controlled the gas, like a riding lawnmower, which of course makes gear and clutch operation nothing like a car, since you rarely adjust the gas. Or is that the point? ~YR
