Cutting bumpstops on Tein springs... - Toyota Yaris Forums

I would actually recommend leaving about 1/4 inch more that what is shown. This is especially important if you run wheels that have an offset of 38-40mm. To short of bumpstop and you will rub the fender liner because of the extra uptravel. If your offset is 42-45mm, you can cut them as shown and most likely have no rubbing.

FunctionSpec makes a good point too, that suspension travel with stiffer springs will be less. (see above) Just don't go shorter than shown or you can and will ruin your struts.

All this only applies to using drop springs on the OEM front struts. I don't have any knowledge on the TRD struts or others...
