There is a US version , its called "Tail of the Dragon " aka Deals Gap , aka " The Dragon " . Its on the NC/Tenn border . 318 turns in 11 miles , and its free

I've done both (on motorcycles) and they are not the same thing. The Nurburgring is a real track, Deal's Gap is a public road and you'll get everything from Miata groups to RVs, plus cops! In Germany, there is an endless number of roadst that are similiar to US 129. Go east on the A6 autobahn out of K-town, then take the exit for Enkenbach-Alsenborn and head south on the B48 to Hochspeyer. Go through that village until you see the B48 heading south again and stay on it towards Waldleiningen. There is a gasthaus down there that all the bikes stop at as all the roads out of there are great runs...actually, all of those roads south of the A6 in the Pfälzerwald are fun to run!

But there are tracks in the US that you can run on, albeit they won't come close to running the 'Ring. Many of the guys I ride with have dedicated track bikes, because riding all out on the street is a dangerous and stupid thing to do!

I agree , riding all out on the street or track is a stupid and dangerous thing to do . But thats why we do it , for the danger factor . Because lets face it , if we wanted to be safe , we would stay home and watch it on television or youtube

The Ring has more "Prestige" and definately higher speeds , but the Dragon is far more technical .

Try the Dragon at night when there is virtually no traffic or cops . Now that is exciting , and yes dangerous . Ride the Dragon on Easter Sunday and you will have it almost all to yourself . That is my favorite day to go . If you go to the Dragon during the summer , you will certainly run into tons of bike and car clubs , until the darkness falls

I hope you are kidding , as that is one of the most ignorant statements that could have been made!

You are saying you are ignoring the safety of others to get your "thrill." That is plain stupid, and the reason people look at modded cars like ours with disdain because you always see accidents from some of these "thrill seekers" where they far exceed their real capabilities (they always think they are better drivers than they are) and end up slamming into a minivan or other car injuring or killing people.

I don't care how much you risk your life; but if you are looking for danger than go bungee-jump off a bridge or take up skydiving. Or better yet, go join the military because I can tell you from 25 years of experience that you'll get more thrills than you'll be able to handle! But advocating street racing is one of the most irresponsible, childish comments that can be made. I know the majority of people on here are much more mature than that!

If you want to , then take it to the track!

Hate to be preachy, but I've got to go with this too. I had a good friend that nearly took out a whole crowd street racing his MR2 once.

He races his bike now on a track pretty often. Still loves racing, but I think he learned his lesson.

What about Sebring right there in FL. It's the closest you will get in your area.
