Do you have anything to prove what you are saying ?
note: can you imagine how much calculations the ecu has to do for the unit conversions ? ie, plugging a US cluster into a Canadian yaris. on a second note, could you imagine how many car's mileage is gone to hell because of an ECU swap ? (ECU do give errors and/or dies, so they are changed) |

I have printouts from Fremont Toyota mechanic Joseph of the 07 cluster and 08 S cluster diagrams and wire configuration. The rep said it can be swapped, but there is one connector that is different from the 07 to 08 S model for the gauge cluster. He said the techs dont want to be liable for anything on your car that isn't factory equipped....so therefore, i could not get him to do a swap for me~
I have the diagrams, if you want to see those or make copies to try and have your mechanics do it, i can give those to you..... |

people have been quoted different prices, from 460-600 for the s cluster...and it has not been 100% confirmed if you can swap them.

I agree with you for the GM cars even if i don't have experience with them. You can choose to display your mileage in Km(h) and miles(h) so, i'm sure it has to be stored elsewhere and have a computer to convert the data (my guess is it might not be straight in the ECU) |
