well, the tang bands subs i have messed with have good tone quality and pack a punch. the only downside is, that while they are a very in expensive sub that handles decent power and packs a big hit and good longevity, the materials used to make the cone are a issue for car audio as far as subs are concerned. their 10 inch may have better materials, but, the smaller subs of theirs i have worked with use treated paper cones.

in a trunk without a good grill that cone may have a limited lifespan. if it has a differant cone material, it would be a awsome sub for a custom enclosure im sure. i am very happy with thier stuff so far. just check out some of the vid's of tang band stuff on youtube.

SD come to the meet in nadick on the 23rd and check out my setup. only has 1 10" JL 10W3 and sounds awesome.. its a 300w 4ohm sub too .. DVC so you can hook it up as 2ohm and run some more through it :)

it only calls for a .675 sealed enclosure so you could make something small..

i think you'll like the sound of my system as well as it not taking up any room

Is equivalent compliance (Vas) how big the box has to be? It looks like that's a figure for ported boxes... not sure, never heard of it before.

Vas is not usually the same as ideal enclosure sizes but it's a parameter that directly affects it.

Vas is the volume of air that has the same compliance as the speaker's suspension. Stiff speakers have lower Vas and tend to use small enclosures. Speakers with loose suspension have a higher Vas and use larger enclosures.

Awesome site, thanks Evan.

I've narrowed it down to these subs:
http://www.caraudiodeals.com/re-audi...d4-p-1592.html
RE Audio SE10D4, 600W RMS, dual 4-ohm voice coils

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=295-460
Dayton RSS265HF-4, 350W RMS, single 4-ohm voice coil

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_s...p?series_id=24
JL Audio 10W3V3-4, 100-500W RMS, single 4-ohm voice coil

WISH I COULD AFFORD... hahaha
