The ones I have from Toyota, have extra reinforcement of 3M tape for the back windows included. All pieces are in-channel though. I've had no issues so far.

Our 2005 five door Echo (Yaris Gen. #1) has the Toyota ones. I'd like to point out that they do create a bit of wind noise. They are very secure and don't move around if you tug on them with the windows down.

Personally, I think they're only for smokers who want to crack their windows and not get wet, but if you like the look, go for it.

They're also for ppl. who live in the desert and like to keep their windows open just a little bit to let heat out of the car when it's parked and for people who want to open their windows just a bit when it's raining.

Also for people who have to leave their cars parked in the hot sun at work all day long with the windows down about an inch unless you want to come back to an oven, if I wouldn't have the visors and it rains while I'm gone everything gets wet...and I don't smoke.

Ah, good point, I forgot about that. My wife does sometimes keep them rolled down a bit, which she wouldn't do in a car without it, for the dual reasons of security and the fact that it can start raining any time here.

I neglected to mention that they do create a little "optical warp" which takes a little bit getting used to. It probably won't be a big deal for most people.

100 bucks?! That's cheap as the OEM price is 175 CDN and worth it too! I've had them on the car for a few months and work awesome. :)
