I dont see why threads should get locked because some people find the question stupid... Why not just given a reasonable response like the first few in this thread or not comment at all if you find the topic stupid and then there wont be any reason for it to be locked, it only needs to be locked when people starting acting negatively because they find the topic to be stupid. To me that does nothing but hurt the forum.

definitely popular topics but if someone said "hey cocaine can make you a better driver" or " unprotected sex is 100% safe" or "a woman's place is in the kitchen" those comments would not go unnoticed...

This forum certainly has a wealth of information about everything yaris, from the people who can tell you how to wire in the JDM taillights you just bought to explaining over/understeer and the vendors who go out of their way to supply us with the things we want for better prices, but in no way am I defending what other people put on the forum...

The title is formed as a statement. There are no questions in there. Which can be misleading. This topic has come up many times prior to the election and has been debunked every single time. The OP got his answer, so I don't see why this thread shouldn't be locked.

Nearly every thread on Yarisworld has an answer, should we lock them all?

no, just the ones that have the potential of becoming particularly volatile as this one is now becoming.

Should I make a thread talking about how every single Christian is racist? No, because it's completely false and everyone's going to be arguing about it. Think about the forums guys. This isn't censorship, it's a means of keeping the peace between members and our forums from going down the hole.

There's nothing that needs to be volatile with responses to the original post. The person was misinformed and was corrected. All the other posts are just fluff.

This is absolutely hilarious. For the first time in my life that I stand up for President elect Obama and ask the thread be locked up ans people get upset!

Political threads go nowhere and ones based on rumors go nowhere.

PeterRedYaris no one is going to fall into the trap of engaging in verbal battle..... it would only prove to weaken the forum.

I could not have said it better. No further discussion is required.
