Another STUPID idea from toyota...
ALL cars have this same "issue" as you call it. All cars(AT) must warm up properly before they will shift correctly. Toyota has given you a light to know when the warm up period is over and you can drive it normally. Stupid idea? So it's stupid for them to let the driver know when its "safe" to drive normally as oppose to other cars that you have to "guess" when the car is warmed up. Also, my dealer told me that it was better for the life of the car to drive it carefully during the warm up period instead of letting it idle to warm up.
