My new bar does not seem to stiffen the car much either but it's much easier to bring home my shirts from the cleaners.

paint it black and it will look better. Looks cool though. If you feel difference, what more could ask out of $20??

I believe the C-One rear strut brace is the only brace I've seen that mounts solidly to the chassis (from the ones I've seen). You do not use the rubber shock upper mounts when installing this bar. It is designed as a solid mount with a machined cup that fits snug in the chassis hole. This design will help reduce chassis flex.

It can also be argued that this design is also flawed since it doesn't allow for side to side play or twist in the shock shaft which can lead to premature shock wear.

Notice the end cups at either end of the brace:
