Just curious if anyone has changed their spark plugs and tried the Bosch Platinum Ir Fusion plugs. I just bought my Yaris and in the process of getting it changed over to Synthetic oil and getting some mag wheels.
Has anyone tried new plugs? |

I've only had my 2008 Sedan for a short time. But I've determined that with negligible wind, over slightly hilly terrain at a steady 67 mph, no A/C, it does about 44 mpg. I'd expect to see 45 mpg at 65 mph. I Just finished a trip at 70-75 mph and the (as yet uncalibrated) scangauge is reading 41.0. I'll be filling up in the morning to verify. But I noted that the fuel gauge started blinking almost exactly when the scangauge predicted I'd be at 1.6 gal.
My 1988 Chevy Sprint Metro gets 53 mpg under the conditions of the first trip mentioned. Amazing little cars, those were. Blows away the Yaris' fuel economy, and even beats the 3rd gen Prius on the highway. And all that at 345,000 miles. -Steve |
