These are indeed "stock" quality pads from a Toyota dealer. I bought them because I find dealer parts prices go up, sometimes a lot, in just a couple of years. The pads won't go "bad" and they will be ready for action once the originals wear out. I don't consider it a waste of $ since they will be needed eventually, right? I've always found factory pads to be better than some of the stuff auto parts stores sell anyway.
I'll place them next to my 10 pack case of oil filters....... Oh, and I have 4 spare lug nuts handy in the storage bin in the back of the hatch. Sucks when you're changing a flat and lose track of lug nuts.
