Base MSRP on the '08 695 is 8 and change. That really isn't TOO bad.

SIPNGAS and RYANK the clutch uses brake fluid ...

which is shared with the brake fluid ( same resorvoir ) . I believe it's DOT 3 . Changing to a synthetic brake fluid ( DOT 4 , Valvoline syn. B.F. , etc. ) could help that situation much like synthetic gear oil for better cold shifting . TAKE CARE .

I called Jiffy Lube, the one I go to for my oil changes and they don't stock the synthetic gear oil the Yaris needs. (at least that's what the guy said..) So, later, I'm going to call the dealership and ask about switching to the synthetic brake and gear oils...Toyota won't void my warranty by switching? Not sure why they would, but just thought I would ask!

used synthetic brake fluid for clutch of the 2000 CHEVY Prizm ( Corolla ) and made a difference in pedal action . That had a resorvoir for clutch and brakes . Used an animal feeding syringe with clear plastic hose slipped over one end to suck ( draw ) out the old brake fluid and gradually replaced it with the synthetic until the bottle of synthetic brake fluid was gone . Also did the same for brake fluid . That made for better braking . Was doing a motor route at that time , many stops .

go to or call NAPA and other auto parts stores for AMSOIL MTG , REDLINE MT-90 , etc.. You'll need 2 quarts of gear oil , I'm sure dealer would install it for less than $50 . Remember to use a GL-4 gear oil . GOOD LUCK

KCALB , you could get your son and yourself a terrible towel for his birthday and use them during the game . Or pick up some yellow oil rags at auto parts store / dollar store and hand them out to son and all that come to his party . That way use as napkins , then rewash to use during the football game . Happy Birthday to the little tyke . Signed : SHAGGY the oil dude .

Thanks for the info. I'll probably just leave it alone and pry the clutch pedal up with my foot some more.

I only noticed it today, and it was about -27 degrees, so hopefully that won't linger around much longer.
