Im just glad to know Im not crazy, ok maybe still crazy, I'm just not hearing things.
I have the same head unit. If you want to disable AVS (I think that's what it's called), press the tune dial, and go past treble, bass, etc. till you get to AVS, which has options I beleive for high, medium, and low. By default it's set high, so from there you can adjust it to your liking. Hope this helps

See, now, I wish I still had my freaking manual to look this up for my upgrade model (cdn single cd w/ mp3 capability cd player for the yaris hatch, silver)! Balls, how does someone lose something like that. Im beyond myself in wonder and annoyance at myself for somehow 'misplacing it'

I gotta go to Toyota and buy a new one, I hate not having a manual around to refer too. Its crap

Ahh, i think this may answer my question, as i dont have AVS im sure,

only: bass, treble, fad, bal, and preprogrammed eq (so to speak... settings are like "compact", "minivan", etc etc).

Im pretty sure i didnt see another option, or id have alreayd tinkered w/ it and discovered it im sure!

I seem to see some hints on the labels on the window panes that they can prevent ultraviolet light from passing through. I am not an expert. If the windows can in fact prevent the passage of ultraviolet light, it should be a good "unnoticed" feature.

Its true they dont. I have transition glasses I wear that darken when outside (ie. exposed to UV rays).

They do not darken while I'm driving... this is bc the Yaris's windows dont let in the UW rays.

You have the right about it. But I think most all cars now are made like this, so its def not specific to Yarii

Your not crazzy on the stereo. Push the tune knob till als comes up and set it high low or off. I personally like the aux. glove box othe left side of the steering wheel. I use cash for my gas and keep my money in there. I wouldn't have known it was there unless I saw it in the owners manul which is apperent all of us read so diligently.

That's funny. When my dealer was showing me the features on this thing, they couldn't figure out how to open the hatchback door! I had to show THEM how to do it. :p
