I had a Rio before my Yaris and IMO the Yaris drives 10x better. But that just might be because I had no power anything or ac in that car haha. As far as hp goes the Rio seemed to have a little bit more pep but no where close as far as a smoother ride stock.

![]() Oh and I so rarely enter these threads trashing other cars, but seriously....the Kia Rio is so shit. Before I bought the Yaris I rented a Rio. Re-Sale value is indeed bad like someone mentioned, and by next year the Rio will look outdated. It just doesnt have style. |

I had a rio 5 door. It trashed the Yaris in a roden-track comparison, as did the Nissan versa (the fit won
). Rio is a MUCH better handling car with better interior fit and finish than the Yaris. I thought the engine was weak - and mine started "knocking' after 1 day of conservative driving. So I dont like Korean engines after my experience with 1 sample I would like to put the Yaris 1.5L in the Rio - or maybe the 1.8L - then I could have best of both worlds |

I was very impressed with the Rio5, especially the interior. However, I liked the engine on the Yaris better, and the fact that there's more aftermarket support. The Rio is now a decent subcompact.

i think the 80mph and 1600rpm cruising rpm definitely help that

Yep. My dad's 2006 Corvette will get 30MPG on the highway. Low RPM and aerodynamics help.

![]() Bad gas mileage, interior scuffs really easy, a lot less power then the Yaris, and just all-around a cheap feeling car. Last edited by 33OH; 02-02-2009 at 05:50 PM. |
