How much shorter did you order the boot from Redline?

i believe its 2.5 inch shorter.. since i cut about 2.7 inch.. but it was still too long..as youi can probably see on the photo i can probably take another inch off..and it will still have full play for shifting..

I did the same thing; I cut a couple inches or so off the top of my shifter. It works well for me because the long shifter was bothering me, and now it's the perfect length for my arm.

What kind of glue did you use to glue the shift boot to the trim/bezel thing?

And did you still put the little clips through the holes in the boot?

I just cut my shifter 3.25" down and installed my redline boot.

Who are you guys getting to cut it down for you? Anyone wanna cut one down, and maybe do that bend, and sell it to me?

i just used a glue gun...its worked well so far its been 2 months and its still holding.. i had to add a hole or 2 to make it fit cleaner..just played around with it..

i had mine cut bent and rewelded from a shop i used to work for..make sure if you gonna cut it do a groove b4 welding it for extra grip incase it snaps.. you dont really have to do the bend just wanna get it just a tad closer to me for shifting..i dont think itll make a big difference.

I cut mine down myself using a grinder. I didn't re-weld anything back on, just drilled out the inside of the stock shifter knob to be the same diameter as the shaft, and used a rubber mallet to pound it into place. Very secure.

Thanks marcus. I went out and picked up some upholstery/leather glue. We'll see how it works.

Few pictures of how mine came out. 3.25" cut off the shaft. Both boots are from Redline Goods (www.redlinegoods.com).
I am also using an engine bay TRD Short Shifter Kit (Quickshift Kit).

Yep. I mean, I didn't weld it, but my buddy did. I'd be scary with a torch in my hand.

Haha. I drilled my stock shifter out to be the same size diameter hole and smacked it into the shaft. Didn't want to weld it. =)
