For those attempting this mod, I highly recommend one of these:



It is about the cheapest SMT soldering/desoldering tweezer iron out there ($31). I have a $900 hot air system for reworking SMT boards, but for quick jobs on two lead parts (like these LEDs), I reach for my Tenma iron instead.

nice thanx for the recommendation

by the way i was using a soldering iron with no temp control, my cousin has one with temp control, what temp would you recommend?
