Don't know what to tell ya, Tamago. I got brake fade really bad at Carolina Motorsports Park, and a little less severe and less consistently at Sebring. With the brake ducting, I had no problem at Sebring. (Had a BLAST playing cat and mouse with a couple Miatas on street tires the last time I was at Sebring! One could barely keep up, the other one had me out-powered, but couldn't keep up in the turns until he got behind me for a couple laps and let me educate him... then the bastard passed me!)
On the stock pads, I used to get brake fade just doing a couple healthy autocross runs! Admittedly, I left-foot brake, which could have something to do with that. Maybe the xA has better airflow to the brakes than the Yaris? That's really all it would take. The Yaris wheel wells appear to be pretty well blocked from airflow, quite possibly on purpose to reduce drag. It's made for economy, not performance. |
