OK, these are the ones "bikegerm" recommended. The least expensive seems to be the Comfort Inn. I checked rates for 3 nights - Fri, Sat and Sun figuring we would arrive Friday afternoon and check out Monday morning. Rates are reduced for Sun night. So with 2 people to a room rate is $129.99 + $129.99 + $79.99 = $339.97 (I am sure that is plus tax and fees, etc.) With 4 people to a room rate is $139.99 + $139.99 + $89.99 = $369.97 (also I am sure plus tax and fees, etc.). Those prices are from their website.

Edit - **Looks like tax is 15.25% plus $2.50 per room per day occupancy tax.**

You can also add a roll away bed to some rooms for $10.00 more per night.

Found this online coupon for Comfort Inn that saves 10% as long as you make your reservation through the hotel instead of online or through the 800#. http://maps.google.com/coupons/page?...=1&gl=us&hl=en

I am still not certain I will be able to go. Depends on the doggie situation and it's just too far away to make concrete plans. I would like to go ahead and make my reservation though. I am definitely leaning towards the Comfort Inn since they are giving a break for the third night. It is still expensive, but about normal for a downtown hotel.

What does everyone think? Any input?

While I know all of these to be very nice establishments, you may want to look closer to Murfreesboro or Mount Juliet. The superspeedwar is about 30-40 minutes from downtown. You may have to fight for rooms closer to the track but, you'll probably be closer to the "action" and definitely save a little money by avoiding downtown.

To the more laid back I need my sleep, or mature bringing the kids crowd, consider the airport area. Still closer than downtown Nashville, but far enough away from the IA crowds.
