Mine headunit is stock! There are two types out there. Most American, or not all, have the intergrated HU with the buttons on the side and the screen in the middle. I think you can change that and you can buy the stuff from the factory. Ask around in the Audio/Sound forum. I don't kno much about the sound system for everything related to that on my car is stock! Sorry!

Is it easy for everyday use?

Isn't it very short?Does the short shifter reduce the 0-80mph time?

They have throw reduction figures on their web site.

Yes, you will get to 80 mph faster with a short shifter.

Excuse my ignorance but is that the whole assembly or just the stick?

you just get the short shifter, a little replacement clip for the one you will probably end up cutting off or bending off, and another tool to remove the plastic piece attached to the bottom of the stock shifter.

boot, shift knob, & anything else u see not included

oh yea, and by whole assembly meaning shift knob and stuff.. if you buy the short shifter and a knob, u mite get a discount on the knob??? not quite sure, sumbody please correct me if im wrong!!!!

You will be able to remove the short shifter easily, just hang on to the special tool we send to simplify uninstallation. We also include 2 clips, one for installation and one for un-instaallation in case you sell your car.

Hey I asked this guy Kevin at TWM about fitting a 1.5 liter yaris sedan.
This is what he told me. It may be helpful to you, it may not, but I figure its worth a shot..

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in our products. Our Yaris short shifter
has
been tested in the 2007 Yaris Hatch, but based on our experience with
Toyota cars over the past 5 years they never change shift assemblies
from
one trim level of car to another. For example our Echo short shifter
fits
both the hatch and the sedan as they share the same shift assembly.

If you order the short shifter and it does not fit for some strange
reason, we would refund your purchase 100%. I can almost guarantee you
that the short shifter we offer for the 2006 and up Yaris will fit.

Here is a link to the page where you would order from if you decide to
go
ahead with the purchase, or feel free to call us toll free at
1-877-655-0540.

Get it... roll the dice. Worse comes to worse you send it back and you have a deposit down on a version for the sedan when they release it.

I am actually going to do a DIY - Short Shift Kit, so that will pretty much sum up the process. I'll leave my commentary as well

If you have access to a dremel tool or any type of electric/air rotary cutting tool the short shifter install is easier. The install goes better with the help of a friend also, there are a couple of plastic clips to depress to get the top off of the assembly that are easier with the help of someone who can hold a screwdriver. The only part of the install that is sometimes difficult is removing the clip on the passenger side of the shift assembly.

The first method I use involves 2 flat head screwdrivers and a hammer. I usually hammer a small, thin flat head screwdriver between the clip and the plastic assembly. Once the first screwdriver is between the plastic assembly and the clip, I use another larger flat head screwdriver to pry the clip by inserting it in to the gap created by the first screwdriver. You can work your way around the clip prying with the large screwdriver to work it off. I usually try to break the clip, since once it is cracked it comes off very easily. If you break the clip, don't worry since we provide replacement clips with the shifter kit.

The second method I use, if you have access to a Dremel or any rotary cutting tool, is easier. Using the rotary cutting tool and a cutting disc, slice the clip. Once it is sliced it can be pried off easily with a flat head screwdriver.

If you run in to problems give us a call at 1-877-655-0540.

Kevin
