Sad really, in the US they have 5.0 liters V8's rating at 300HP while here in EU we have 1.0 liters 3cyl that have 100 HP. So if we do the simple math, If we did a V8 5.0 L we would get somewhere in the what? 600HP? hmmmm. You guys in the US really need some models like the Focus RS, and the Type R's, etc., to show you what muscle and technology really is!!!!!!!

The 4.6 Mustang, not 5.0, is rated at 300hp and 315hp
Their 5.4 is rated at 500hp, and around 600hp
Not counting special build Mustangs that can be bought right off the Ford showroom floor...(Saleen 4.6, 550hp - Roush 4.6, 510hp - Steeda 5.0, 650hp)

ZR1, 6.2, 638hp, 0-60mph 3.4 seconds
CTS-V, 6.2, 556hp, 0-60mph 3.9 seconds

...or a working man's car like my old '05 GTO, when stock, 6.0, 400hp, 0-60 4.7 seconds

Yes, I agree! But still, you talk about a 4.6 liter V8 being amazing and rated at 300HP, when a STI UK edition hits over 315 HP being a 2.0 liter 4 cyl. and not to mention the price. I dont argue that the US has amazing cars, i mean, the new camaro, just stunning! but before a ZR1, I would go for a porsche, and before a CTS-V, I would go for an M3 or an M5. My father had the pleasure of owning a Zr1, it lasted 2 weeks before one of the cyl. decided to break thru the bonnet, apparently a manufacturing fault, or so chevy said. So yeah. that was the end of that.

The STI couldn't do it without forced induction, that's why the stock 4.6 Mustang makes 300hp and 315hp, but the forced induction 4.6s that I mentioned make 510hp and 550hp. And over here the STI is about 10 grand more than a Mustang GT. Funny that you mentioned the M5...it did really good in last weeks Motorweek's CTS-V vs the M5...close, but CTS-V beat the M5 in the quarter mile, lap times...almost every test that was done, even at the gas pump. They even mentioned that the CTS-V could be bought, with enough money left over to pick up a new Series 1 BMW, for the price of the M5.
