adjusting LCD display brightness
hello
i own a yaris 07 model. the dashboard lcd display (wich show speed. rpm fuel. etc) is extreamly bright. at day light its fine but at night its very blinding. any chance there is an hidden night time button so its will reduce the brightness of the display? i tried this window tint plastic. at night its exelant but at day time i cant see a thing. any ideas how to make my own night time button? wich wire is responsible for the brighness? thats the LCD display i have on yaris 2007 model. thanks |

How about the knob on the lower left of the dash which is for dimming the display. Also the display is supposed to dim when you turn your lights on at night. G, I hope this is not a troll... ... ... Hmmmm, Is this your first car? Did you read the owners manual? Jeepers!

I wish the U.S models had that digital display. Why didn't we get them?
I'm with ^^...check the brightness wheel on the dash, left side of the steering wheel column. |

Headlight height adjusting feature-wow, now that's an intersting feature we never get state side-even the cars with HID's are automatically adjusted-they just won't let the driver mess with them and then they break. Well, after reading all the posts-it seems clear your headlight height adjuster wheel is the one we use to dim our lighted up speedometer. It's such a new car stop at a Toyota dealer and ask them about it-you might have an optical sensor that's not working when you turn on your headlights. Even in the US when our cars had vaccum blue digital gauges we could dim them at night.

THE SOLUTION
Thank you guys for all the help yes this model do have headlight hight adjustment whell. ech headlight lamp has a motor wich adjust the hight of the light depends the wight of the vehicle. passengers and so. more the two years i'm with this model and yes i tried it out. i did stoped at my local toyota dealer and showd me the trick for it. here is mechanism wich dim the display light and its hidden for few resons and by dafult this machanism is turnd off. ot turn this on when the odometer is on "odo" mode (the real odometer and not trip A or trip B) you need to push and hold the odometer changing button for 3 secconds - then the mechanism turn on. when the headlight swich turn on the display automaticly dimm. this feature is only for night highway ride when no bright light outside. otherwish the dispay light seems to be a bit low. but maybe i'm not used to it. thank you guys again for all help. |
