XM/GPS + Shark Fin

I have XM in one car, and Sirius in the other two. In all cases, the satellite antennae is either on or under the dash. Have never had any problem with reception. My point is that they don't have to go on the roof or even outside the car.

I was thinking of doing that but I have no idea if I would be able to remove the dash to put something under there. The roof method doesn't seem that difficult ... except removing the roof trim.

I'm kind of torn as to what to do. The only reason I am doing this is because both satellite receivers are on the roof and have scratched the paint.
