Just for fun - Yaris on TV & movies

There's a 3 year old thread on this already, and I wasn't sure if I should reply to it and get berated for necro posting, or start a new thread and be berated for not using the search function ;)

Anyway, I was bored last week and started downloading The Office, i had only seen a few episodes on TV, but now I've been having 5 hour long daily marathons watching episodes hehe. Awesome show, I am in love with Dwight.
Anyway, I squeed when I noticed one of the characters, Pam gets a new car, and they only showed the back, but I recognized it as a yaris because of the tail lights! I am so proud of myself haha, I suck at recognizing cars.
Her bf starts asking her about something (transmision? gas mileage? idk something car smart) and she just says she doesn't know and she was more interested in the cup holders. And I loled since I know we have uniquely placed cup holders!

Anyway, I know this is old news, but I was so excited to see this I wanted to mention it for any yaris newbies who like the office but never noticed her car in the old episodes.

So to make this interactive, where else have you seen the yaris? I'm more interested in the hatchback since sedans are common IMO. I think the other thread mentioned Heros, but I've never watched that. Any more TV characters? Movies?

Oh also, now I really want a spoiler because Pam has one haha. I thought only 'sporty' or people with performance mods should have spoilers... but seeing a quiet receptionist with one on her yaris, well I think it looks good, so why shouldn't I get one?? Just adding to my long list of mods I'll do after I save some money!

Really? Is that their equivilent of the beetle geek squad cars? That's pretty awesome, I should start watching Chuck just for that..... Was watching more of The Office, the episode where the camera crew follows Pam & Jim driving to catch them kissing showed a lot of her car, it was awesome =) I was with my mom and was going "LOOK LOOK THATS MY CAR!" Then she told me to stfu and go back to college like Pam did. Which is funny because I just got to the episode Pam drops out and becomes a receptionist again. Story of my life.

I think there's a Yaris on "Psych" (sp?). They are investigators that claim to be psychic. It's a blue four door.

Geez, how do I miss these? I watch Psych sometimes, I used to be in love with the x files show but never saw the new movie.
Is the mad tv the one with them learning to drive and the asian guy getting naked? I was Loling so hard.. I actually watched that when I still considering buying the yaris, it helped me lol.

Only in the first season. They currently use Matrixes. But the pics of the Buy More used between scenes is stock footage so the Yarises can still be seen parked out front in those.

Gus' car in Psych is a five-door Canadian Echo, as we didn't get the five-door Yaris in the US until this year (2009).

The reason they use an Echo is that even though the show is set in Santa Barbara, California; it is actually filmed in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada! The show also incorporates Vancouver and various locations around the Lower Mainland of British Columbia as a backdrop.

But you'd think they'd at least use a car (i.e. Yaris!) that was available in the States!

Which movie or tv show was it recently there was like 2 or 3 yarii's together in a parking lot? I think the movie/show took place in Thailand and people on the forum here were joking about if one was someones car caught in the pictures.

I saw the one in x-files. Totally yelled "A YARIS!" and my wife was rather embaresed, even though we were at home alone. There is also a Yaris at the store near my house in Olympia, Wa that is painted like the flag, and another that is painted just as awesome at another store. I just saw one on an older episode of American Idol (I don't normally watch it, but I live with three women, so sometimes I am forced to listen to really bad singers or really good singers) and it was in the video where they were all singing together.
Also, about the cup holders... does anyone realize this is the worst car for cup holders EVER? The ones on the dash can't even hold a can in place, the door ones are too small to really fit a bottle, and that leaves just the center one. And get a cup bigger than 20 oz, and you're screwed into holding it between your legs or chancing leaving it on the floor. And I drive a stick shift, so the legs thing is not really an option. I did manage to make it halfway home with a cup on top of my car once, so that's always an option, if you drive slow and careful enough.

OH!!! And on Hero's! It was at the hotel (I think) like in the last two or three episodes.
