Is this possible ?

I love my yaris. had to import it from Jap to drive it. I got myself a 1.0 HB Auto. Its preety decent. But compared to my other cars, its just darn SLOW...

The engine is 1KR-FE. I found a 1.5 1NZ-FE in another city at a price tag of around 1300 $ (include shipping/fitting). I havent checked the engine personally but the guy who is selling is says its a new one, also imported from JAP as a spare part option. According to him, it has all the genuine cables and the ECU but without a gearbox.

As this car is not available here in my country, finding a good professional help is a bit tacky.

I dont think it should be much difficult, but still, its an electronic car, and if something goes wrong with the ECU, i'm just Fked..

Second, the gearbox that i have, will it fit/match with the newer 1NZ-FE ??

Suggestions guys .. need help here.

I'd be very careful about swapping engines in your new car as you may end up with a pile of pieces instead of a car and of course if you have any warantee, its over. i'm presuming you have a 1.l installed at the moment, let me assure you that going to all the trouble and expense of swapping for a 1.5 is still going to leave you with a very slow car.personnally if i wanted to go fast i'd get an older car to work on and leave the new car for reliable commuting .

Doing a bit of research on your engine comes up with several other models of car that use the same engine,a search for a turbo on a club forum might prove useful. That Engine size does not exist over here in North America so getting good info on Turbo or Supercharging it might be hard to come by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_KR_engine

Even the 1nz is a pretty weak motor in terms of performance. What horsepower/torque does the 1.0 put down?

Wiki says that:
"The 1KR-FE is a 1.0 L (998 cc) version built in Japan and Poland. Bore is 71 mm and stroke is 84 mm, with a compression ratio of 10.5:1. Output is 68 hp (50 kW) at 6500 RPM with 68.6 ft·lbf (93.0 N·m) of torque at 3600 RPM. Carbon emission levels are 109 g/km."

Wow that is fucking weak so yeah a 1nz swap would boost you up 38 crank horsepower assuming that wiki is speces @ the crank not the wheels.

I think the small engine in this car is always going to be a problem so changing it to the 1.5l will at least get you into more options for aftermarket go fast add ons.
Or you could trade the car for something a bit bigger like this http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2578665

^the point is??

i'd take the 1.0L for some 60MPG anyday for my commute. The 1.5L makes a good weekend driver.

The point is the OP finds his 1 liter engine too slow and is wondering about changing it to the 1.5 liter for extra power,If i bought a 1 liter car it certainly would be for the mpg and not the speed,as for the OP's idea of putting in a 1.5 it seems like a lot of work to end up with a car thats just not as slow as the car he has now, but having no idea what the car scene is like in Pakistan who knows maybe that 1.5 liter is da bomb over there, here you start getting fast at about 250hp

Sheraz2000 check out the "forced induction" section of the forum for ways to get the 1.5 to really move.

if ur gonna do a complete swap why not go with a celica GTS engine and 6-spd trans? it'll be just as difficult, it's been proven to fit and there's parts available to do the swap.

plus...a 200hp 6spd yaris would be badass...hell, even the supercharged/nos'd guys dont have 200 hp.

i currently own a 8th gen civic 1.8L Prosmatic Oriel 1.8L, and a 6th gen Civic 1.6L M/T Oriel. Both with VTECs. so having a 1.5 L in my yaris wont be a BOMB jambo, but it sure will give it a kick start. Also a 1.5 has better options for mods and tunning rather than my lil 1.0L.

I have no idea what a Prosmatic Oriel 1.8L or a 1.6L M/T Oriel is but i assume they are the hot ticket over there so i would focus on those cars and leave the 1 liter car for economical commuting or just let the wife have it.
I didnt mean to refer to your car as an actual bomb,
Urban dictionary says http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=da+bomb
