It is very evident oil is one of the areas people have the most opinions about. As a new Amsoil dealer I read these posts with alot of interest, and learn more each time.
I have no reason to doubt the 300,000 mile guarantee. I think that would come to 75 oil changes if required every 4000 miles. One type of Amsoil Synthetic allows 25,000 miles under many conditions and 15,000 for what they term as severe conditions (Signature Series 35,000/17,000). That would be 12 to 20 changes respectively. Assuming my math is correct, thats at least 300% less times even if 15,000 intervals are used. Since most filters need changing at oil changes as well, I would think that could save substantial money over 300,000 miles if the rest of the car made it that long. Oil analysis can also provide a user with information that can allow the oil to stay in the vehicle longer. Keeping any oil clean with quality filtration would seem to keep wear to a minimum. Check out TruLube.com for more information on costs, oils and filters etc... |
