Hotel in Vancouver?

My wife and I are coming up on our five-year wedding anniversary, and may head up to Vancouver. However, having never visited, we're not sure where to stay. The Metro Vancouver area is large - the actual City of Vancouver is just a part of it.

Any hotel in that price range in Vancouver is going to be a dive - try accommodations in the suburban areas like Surrey, Burnaby or New Westminster and take the SkyTrain into Vancouver in daylight would be my advice. Best to leave the Yaris at the hotel.
