Exhaust header - your thoughts

Well gang, my next mod is going to be an exhaust header. I'm looking at the three choices that Garm sells.... A. The DC Sports Header, B. The Megan Racing Stainless header, and C. The Thunder Street Header. From the pictures, the DC looks like it's made the best. It's design is a little different than the other two. Who has what? Any issues with your choice? Did your car exhaust get much louder? Will I need to immediately replace any of my piping with any of these headers? I'm currently running a Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust. Will any of these compliment it better than the others? So many questions.....

Thanks..

Randy, Loren has the DC Header. He has a pretty good review of the design etc. Here's the link to his thread. Doesn't answer the questions, but it gives his opinion over stock plus a few questions from other members about the possible loss of torque. http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...ghlight=header

from the pictures, DC seems to have a longer piping .... the dc and weapon r header is 4-2-1 design that give a little more advantage on the lower rpm, while the thunder and megan is 4-1 design with more higher rpm advantage..., but honestly the yaris header is so small and the increase on the hp is not that significant .... I have the weapon r header + nitto midpipe and nitto axleback on my yaris ...yes I can fell the extra power, but not that much .

hope that helps ...

Garm... is this still the case? Do you have the DC sports in stock? If not, is it obtainable?

Thanks...

The DC is not a 4-2-1 its a 4-1 but it's about as clost to equal lenght header as you're going to get without going full custom.

Just by the looks:

1st DC
2nd Thunder
3rd Megan

I have actually seen the Megan and I really don't like it. The runners are crushed and are as short as the OE unit.

The DC seems to have the longest and smoothest runners... and usually that is what you will be looking on a good header.

From the looks of it I would say Thunder or DC is your best bet!

THE CHOICE IS MADE !!

I've decided !! It's the DC. It looks gorgeous, it's a true 4:1, and those of you who have it, give it the stamp of approval. Thanks for the input...

i put it on in between days at a track event. the second day i had to start shifting into 4th before going into turn 3 instead of just going all the way through in third. also, mid corner throttle input caused more understeer/push so it definitely picked up power. I will dyno it today to find out the exact increase.

One more for DC, nice improvement in midrange and top end. Don't be afraid to get those rpm's up!
