Need to find someone that knows small-block chevys Gen III
Hey everyone, I am in search of someone who knows about the Gen. III LM7 (5.3L) or at least the small block chevy line. I am looking for someone with some experience in small block performance. I plan on coverting, what parts I can, LS6 parts to my LM7 engine; with my eventual plan of a twin turbo or two stage turbo set up.
Anyway, thanks for any responses :) BTW, I realize this is a Micro forum, but you never know someones background until you ask :) Thanks in advance.

LS6 is not a small block.

Depends on which LS6 your talking about. Because that stamp was on 2 engines with different displacements; a 454 and a 5.7. The 5.7 is just a higher output version of a LS1. As for interchangeable parts.... not to knowledgeable about those. Sorry.

Looking at a few things it seems that the intake manifold is interchangeable, along with the cams. But if you change the cams you may want to see if you can find pistons that have correct dimples in them or are short enough to clear the valves. It also seems that most ls headers are interchangeable as long as they clear the inner fender and the firewall. The heads also swap over, which will give you a lower compression ratio, which in turn is good for boost. |

Research is a good friend. I found all that on google books. The book said that if you swap LM7 heads on a LS1 it will raise the compression so the opposite must be true because the LS1 heads have a bigger combustion chamber.
