What level of tint is legal in all 50 states? If I were about to tint my car I'd just do that. There's already enough to worry about when traveling.
As for getting a too much tint ticket in your own state? There's this thing they came out with called the internet. If what I hear is true it's very easy to look stuff like that up now.  Edit: In case it helps anyone I looked it up. http://www.tintlaws.com/
