So waiting for your turn at JippyLube, or the dealship is saving time and money?

If you are worried about time and money, you'd change the oil yourself, and have it done in less time on most occassions.

And while you're waiting for Jippy Lube to get to your car, there you are waiting and doing little productive.

To save time and money do it yourself.

In addition, for the price Jippy and dealerships charge for convetional oil, you can do it yourself and use synthetic and since synthetic oil can be use 50% to 100% longer intervals, you save money there too because you perform less oil changes.

15 minutes takes care of oil, filter, and disposal.

It takes me more time to do it myself, because there are no lines at the quick change drive through I go to sometimes, and while im waiting the 5 minutes they take to do it (absolute tops), I can be on the phone with customers.

Time is moot for me, it would probably actually take more time to go to the dealer or even a quick lube place - set up appointment (or not), wait around, wait around, wait... yeah.

I just ordered a case of OEM Toyota oil filters @ $4 ea and a OEM Toyota air filter for $12, as well as a TRD oil filter (out of curiosity) and a few drain plug gaskets for backup purposes. Did I mention Pennzoil Platinum synthetic is $20 for 5 quarts all day every day at my local Wal-Mart? I got it when the $15 mail-in-rebate deal was going on, so...

Yeah, even using the TRD filter on my next oil change, net cost is going to be < $15 in (superior) parts/oil.

We have a Yaris because it was cheap and it looked decent and it will probably last 4-5 years. Our teenager drives it. Next.
