Well, maybe not to you, but I've seen a lot of remotes killed in less than 5 years. Some brands are flimsier than others, and some people press the buttons really hard when they are out of range. Remember too, that some people's keychains are treated like indestructable objects, being dropped and thrown constantly. Not that a remote shouldn't last 15 years, but I can understand why some don't. |

I have never had to replace the batteries in any remotes that I have used, which is 4. But out of the 4 remotes I have owned 2 of them stopped working completely. The other 2 I still own and are working for now. Therefore I'm with the guy that says the battery will out last the remote. Unless you put your remote in a padded box after using it, it will evetually stop working. Remotes get bumped around while they are hanging in your ignition not to mention in pockets, purses, etc. |

![]() I never had to replace a remote battery either. However, my remotes do take a beating being on my key rings and with frequent usage. I personally never has a remote wear out but, believe those who say theirs did before the battery crapped out. BTW, I have a remote battery for my Celica that is well over 8 years old and still going strong but, the remote has definately seen better days..

wow thats great. The remote for my 05 Taco stopped working within the first 6 months. Maybe they don't make em as good as they use to....or maybe you take yours off the key chain and put it inside a padded box inside of a gun case the first day you own the car.
