I know Steve and another member here found a hold to the right of the steering wheel on our cars in the shape of a sphere (somewhere below the compartment, to the right of it near steering wheel ...could we use that to mount the start/stop button possibly? I could dremel the holes size to make it bigger if need be~
I need to find the thread where it was posted on here, it was after the hack, so it's still active.. Life would be pretty boring if we didn't :P |

The hole is there under the small cover that is to the right of the steering column (where many of us have mounted our switches for our DIY cruise control). The inside hole is the correct size. The cover is what needs to have the hole to accept the switch. It would be possible to drill the correct sized hole to mount the switch, but the real cover for the European cars which have push-to-start, have a nice bevel molded in around the switch. |
