The car works 100%, the only thing it can't do is carry 4 people.

The point of doing this car is not too have a "quick" car, its to make the car funner to drive like i said in my post, besides there's always gonna be a quicker car no matter what car you have.

yeh mate i am not being a smart ass just would like to know why you would strip a $23,000 car to make it fun ?? you can get a much cheaper car that is fun like a repaired write off spend heaps of time working on the car if you enjoy it as i do, and have a toy car for fun insted of losing out the money on doing an economy car

as far as making the yaris fun it can be done a stock car is a stock car, i got the most enjoyment after installing trd springs shocks strut brace and sway bar & short shift :)

uh yeah, actually you were. He said why.

id3379, the back seats + belts are just under 100 pounds alone. The car drives faster with just that deduction (especially removing rear weight).

I'm not quite as advanced as that (still got most plastic cladding), but the rear seats and spare wheel made a HUGE difference in the car's acceleration and agility. And I carry a can of tire foam just in case :p

That's exactly what the Yaris is.

Before I actually had my car, it was my plan to strip out the back half. Once I got the car, I realized I liked the interior too much to do that. Oh well. If my car had been second hand and really cheap I probably would do it.

Glad to know I'm not alone in this removing weight thing

I've removed the same things as you and it DOES make a difference.
Mayor Questions:
-Noise: I'm running a 2" cat-less, no resonator, 2" muffler so it already was loud
-Sitting capacity: I have a sedan and and I'm the only one who gets in the car.

And remember there's always the radio so crank up the music

BTW EtiMaGo: the can of tire foam is a great Idea!!!

Crappy images, but here is the back of my 09 hatch. The weather is finally nice here, so excuse the mess:

The weight removed made a pretty significant difference in the feel of the car. I've been running without back seats since a couple days after I got the car. It's a good deal noisier (rocks hitting undercarriage, exhaust noise, fuel sloshing around), but I love it.

As far as the carpet goes, that's black, rubber backed speaker box carpeting. I cut the shape using the old trunk liner, patience, and some cardboard.

I'm going for that "daily driver/race" look :D
