thanks for the helpful links tomato, appreciate it. I went and bought a silicon cover just for now till the covers are developed/produced from the link you showed me.

Shroomster - i am hod-blooded...or at least palms become sweaty in non-ventilated ares~
I went and bought a protective screen cover frm Verizon as I get discount form my work, so it wasn't too bad.

I have a Moto Droid and I love it. Running Froyo 2.2 rooted. I love the WiFi tethering!

^ good for you!!

The case that looks like a piece of tire is called the Vroom case, btw. They make them for iPod, iPhones, and other phones. It looks really cool in person

^ i dont know HOW this happened but...when i took my 2 gig card out of my old phone and put into my Incredible...i was able to view the pictures for two days. But now it can't read my pictures on the card.
Further inspection, all the pics have turned into a .dir file.

Does anyone know how to get my pictures back w/ this scenario?really annoyed at the new phone right now...lol

Sorry, Kioshi, I don't know. Can't you download them and rename them? (always copy files first before messing with them) Worth a try...

Yeah, I"m annoyed with my phone too lately. They've blocked some of the settings I used to be able to access before.

Since you have HTC sense as well, let me ask you. When you type a sentence, do you get a period automatically inserted when you double space and is there a way to turn that off? It was an easy thing to do on the Nexus One but for the life of me, I can't find the damn setting on the EVO (and neither could the HTC guy).

when i insert the mini SD in my laptop...they are all (.dir) files. I can click them then i have to choose a image viewer program to see them. I can not relabel them or save as jpeg or anything. The files are pretty renderless....I had a few images from my trip on them as nice wallpapers....really hope someone can chime in on this and help me out~

No i actually don't on my phone. I downloaded Simeji and when i go under language and keyboard settings....there are options to mess around with ie: capitalize after period, auto correct suggestions, etc.
My keyboard layout is in Simeji style with a toggle switch, so my settings are altered a little now.
You should be able to fiddle around w/ the English keyboard under language and keyboard menu.

Let me know, i have my phone in front of me (pissed off at it for corrupting my images) and i can follow up w/ you promtly...

Also, i have Facebook HTC Sense, but it is turned off or not in use. I was able to do that on my Incredible :)

you can't drag and drop or copy paste them to another drive/computer?

if you can do that you can rename them or choose what to open them with....aside from that.....

try opening the containing folder on the card while tethered from the phone to a pc/laptop.

edit the name of a pic and type it as "name.jpg" <<<make sure to put the .jpg not just the name...

hope something helps....

THANK YOU!!

I renamed the files and add .jpeg and it turned them into image files.
Very helpful for someone like me who isn't big on computer knowledge~

I have 180 files to rename and transfer to my Incredible now, lol.

thanks for the offer, Kioshi but I've checked all my settings already. There is nothing more to do. some of the stuff is grayed out / hidden from the settings menu and that's all there is to it.

I can totally understand why people root their phones

back to the google board, I guess. I'm sure someone else has noticed a similar thing on their unit. ugh.

sorry about your pictures, Kioshi

Last but not least..question~

What email app is everyone using? I may have overlooked this if it happened to tomato or anyone else on here...forgive me >_<

HTC Mail default app can't hold my 1000 emails that i have stored on hotmail.
It says not enough memory on phone even though i have memory...
I read through this forum - http://forum.androidcentral.com/droi...tting-low.html
And here - http://androidforums.com/incredible-...available.html

I started using K9 mail app....but it has serious problems receiving new emails...and skipped emails from 2009 and downloaded from 2008 to 2006 for me...LOL.

I am just going into web browser and checking hotmail that way for right now~

I have emails from 2006 to reference back to, they come in handy thats why I'd like to be able to view them from my phone on the go.

Sheesh I though 100 emails was a lot...I've been using the provided email apps.

I have a question myself:

I just made a new (professional) email lol, no more incubus_5225; Anyway to force the phone to use the new email address?

NVM I just found how lol >>>>HOW TO CHANGE MAIN EMAIL ON ANDROID PHONE

the provided email app will easily hold 100 emails , you shouldn't worry Shroomster :)
So i read the froyo pdf file for incredible and what has changed for it - http://support.vzw.com/pdf/system_update/incredible.pdf

hope the email thing gets resolved... :(
Because BB users could have 2000 plus emails w/o any freezing or low memory messages...
dont see why its not possible on Android OS smartphones....

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooo.... I believe this is what you call a necro bump hehehe

It's been about a year and I wonder how many more have switched to Android since we started the thread?

I still have my EVO 4G, and it's working out OK. Got the Gingerbread update a while back and didn't notice very much difference, except for some small cosmetic stuff.

Battery still sucks more than ever (probably lasts about 1/2 day, these days - but I use it more extensively than I did before) but overall the phone still performs pretty well. San Francisco has 4G but I rarely see it, except in some areas of the financial district. No biggy, since 3G has been pretty solid overall.

Looking back on it, I'm pretty happy with my decision.

How are you all doing with your phones?

Kioshi, do you still enjoy your Incredible?
Etimago? I know you dumped your Milestone a while back and replaced it?
PK? Still rocking that G1? hehe
Garm? Did you ever get rid of your Pre?
Shroomster, how is that MyTouch working for your wife?

Anyone else want to talk android to me?

Traded my OG Droid in for the long awaited Motorola Droid Bionic on Saturday.

Wow, what a tremendous phone. Makes my Droid 1 feel like a dinosaur (which was the top phone less than 2 years ago).

Super fast (dual core processor and 1 gig of RAM).

Love it!

Get Juice Defender. Using it on the default profile easily doubles battery life (for me anyway.)
