[QUOTE=Kaotic Lazagna;486415]Yeah, one of the tabs broke off two of the knobs, but doesn't affect anything and they're on there tight still. Here's mine (and a pic of the flaking).
Okay you have some seriouse orange peel there. If i were you I would resand it and repaint it. You need to do very light coats. Thin coat and let it dry for about 10 minutes then another coat and so on till you get even coverage. It looks like you went a little heavy and caused dripage and takes forever to cure probally months. So then its going to scratch and easily come off. |

![]() But yeah, I did the process that you mentioned. Could be the type of paint I'm using, not really sure. I'll order a new set of those pieces in the future, and paint them. What I'm puzzled over is I used the same process on the knobs and the inner door handle things, and they came out fine????? |

Decided to just go for it and paint the knobs too. Also after the paint cured awile it looks more of a satin black now. Very close to flat black but with a slight gloss depending on the light. I like it much better than flat black since it dosnt show fingerprints as easily.

I like it.
Yeah, it could be a mixture of the paint I used and sand paper. Finest one I used was just 1000 grit. But like I said, the knobs came out fine, and I used the same process on them. I went back and applied another layer of paint on the bottom piece (on top of top coat), and it looks better now. Didn't flake, and it hid some of the grooves. I added more top coat on top of that layer. Are you going to switch out your knob LEDs? |
