Brief acceleration issue

i'm having the same issues as you are having in my mmt transmission. the car is sluggish and often doesn't accelerate properly.if i read correctly, you placed your foot on the gas,the car jerked and then you removed the foot from the gas pedal?
Reading several posts about this "sluggish" yaris stuff,i think the ECU got used to highway speeds,and when you needed to accelerate from a stop,your car jerked.
try to continue the press on the gas.

The car didn't exactly jerk. I pressed the gas pedal and the car revved but no movement after 1 second. It's like the transmission slipped into neutral when it was in drive. I took my foot off the gas and tried again and then it worked properly.

About 100 ft later when there wasn't any cars around me, I pressed the gas to the floor and then immediately off, the car revved but didn't move until 3 seconds later. It was only until I came to a complete start and turned off the car, then turned it on, everything was back to normal. So maybe it was a computer issue.

Further thoughts?

By distance, I do 90% highway driving. By time, 50% highway.

i still think it's not a transmission issue but rather a sluggish ecu.do you still have a warranty? if so, ask the dealership to connect to a scanner and log any errors.
