2007 (Auto) Sedan - Price? [UPDATE]
New to the boards, but looking to get a Yaris to replace my '05 Corolla after it was totaled last month.
Seeing a lot of '07s in the area, so hoping to get a general idea on pricing. Looking at a sedan that's auto, 43k miles, pretty basic but does have pwr windows/locks/mirrors. Asking is just under $10k. Paying in cash, what do you think I can get them to? Thanks! UPDATE - Found another '07, Out-the-Door is $9k, with identical specs. They're doing some paint touch-up, should be ready on Monday! Last edited by MichaelLC; 07-16-2010 at 11:42 PM. |

It's hard to say without checking out the car in person. Is it offered by a Toyota dealer? Or, is it offered by a mom & pop dealer?
43k mi is just about average for a 4 year old car. If it has extended warranty, it could fetch a bit more dollar. If it doesn't have the Toyota's extended warranty, maybe offer $8,500 and end up around $9k. Really, it just depends on how the car is. |

Thanks for the reply.
It's at a Nissan dealer. Looking at CarFAX, seems to have been there since May, no major issues reported anyway. Think it has factory, not sure if extended warranty. Hoping they'll be motivated to get it off the lot, and willing to deal since I just want to pay clear; using money from insurance, so limited budget. |

K.B.B. suggests $11,680 for excellent condition . EDMUNDS clean ( nothing used is perfect ) is $10,361 . Add the 11,680 and 10,361 to get $ 22,040 then divide by 2 to get $11,020.50 for average of the 2 values . So , the car is below the resale value of www.kbb.com ( always higher , works out best for dealer ) and www.edmunds.com ( works best for the buyer ) . I would offer $9,500 and see what occurs . The remains of the 5 year / 60,000 mile powertrain is transferred to you by TOYOTA . Have the dealer get you the CARFAX , won't break 'em . Let us know how you make out , BEST Of LUCK .

Last , pull the oil dipstick to check oil level and look for discoloring of the metal / plastic that usually means tarnish which indicates poor maintenance . Also take a small flashlight with you and remove the oil cap to look into the valve cover to see if any tarnish / oil buildup inside . Should look like new , shiny . If not , another tip off of neglect .
