Question Need computer help

I just upgraded the RAM cards on my computer and now the damn thing won't start-up all the way. The monitor isn't even showing a connection. I also Googled this and followed the instructions to fix it, which was to disconnect and reconnect the power supply to the comp. I also tried reinstalling the old RAM, but still nothing. I know my motherboard is fine, it has been up til now. Suggestions? I need this thing firing ASAP for school-related PS work

Start by making sure that no connectors were knocked loose while you were in there. Do the drives spin up, but you get no display, or does absolutely nothing happen?

If nothing was accidentally hit, try installing the ram again. Sometimes it takes some effort to pop those babies in those slot. But at the same time you don't wanna snap them while trying!

The RAM went in perfectly without effort and they're securely in place. I've done this same exact thing before on the same comp, so I don't see where I could've gone wrong this time.

Connectors are snug. Drives wind-up fine. Monitor is on with green light, but no display. Seems like everything's working fine otherwise. Just can't get to the login screen and move forward.

Also if it helps, the comp "long-beeps" 3 times at startup.

hmm... do you have another monitor to test - just a monitor. Check video card maybe? I know I had to change my video card for my parents once... but your monitor isn't showing anything huh? ... sorry, I don't know.

It's cool I got it all working just fine now. Turns out I had to fiddle around with the latches a little and put some brute strength into installing them. RAM just doesn't slide in and click as easily anymore I guess, but they're in and ain't going anywhere. Good call, yarisugi (and thanks for the advice anyways, Scott)
