My 2010 xB one sure is off. It constantly reads about 1.5-2mpg higher than it really is. I've never seen one more accurate than that

Almost every car line has cars in diesel versions overseas that get way over 40mpg I just wish one day we could get them over here.

So does the cheaper xD.

In fact, most cars have them now. The Yaris and a few other baseline cars are the only ones left without one.

We may be partial to Toyota/Yaris but the fact is is that the Fiesta trumps the Yaris in almost every category. Then again, it has the advantage of being newer and generally more expensive.

Ford is a completely different company under superb new leadership and focus. Ford's quality/longevity still isn't at Toyota's level (neither is anyone else's) but their quality is a whole new world over 10 years ago.
I just know my and my family's experience with Fords. And yes, I think Hyundais are junk...had one. More junk comes from Chrysler, GM...etc. I've had them all, so I have mucho hatred for specific brands for good reason. I only started liking Toyo in 1990, but still I bought a Trans Am (mistake), a Mazda 626 (bigger mistake), a Buick (HUGE mistake), and a Nissan (eh...) before settling on nothing but Toyotas in 2001. I don't give a rat's ass what brand of car I drive as long as it lasts. Fords don't.

You're talking as if we just took a time machine back 10 years.

You do realize Ford and Hyundai are two of the most reliable makes now, right?

They're still not a Toyota as far as ultimate longevity goes, but you can't ignore their massive reinventions.

Yes, before 5-10 years ago, they were junk. But so weren't Toyota and Honda 40 years ago. Things change.

Plus, do you think Hyundai would warranty all their cars to 100,000 miles if they were "junk"?

^ I like Toyota only because I keep a car for up to 10 years. I've had the others, and yes even had a Hyundai with the 100,000 mile warranty. I haven't driven anything but Toyo since 1999, but I'm not going to try a Ford just because they are supposed to be better now. The whole problem with these brands is it is too late to convert some people you've already f*cked over before. I'm one of those people.

I am not brand-loyal at all. I am reliability-loyal. People in America have had to be made to feel guilty in order to buy American, because American just wasn't up to scratch. I changed brands after years of being disappointed and broke from repairs. I can only base my opinions on my personal experiences, which are about 10 years old since I changed to nothing but Toyota. But unless those dicks at Ford want to give me one to drive for a couple of years so I can start singing their praises (or bashing them even more), they've lost a customer for good with me...I wouldn't care if it got 100mpg.
