Foglight Power Source
I need a location to draw 12 volts (preferably in ACC) for my foglights. Until yesterday I had it hooked up to the ACC spot in most tutorials (also part of the fuel pump fused circuit), however it suddenly stopped working. I'm looking to use an add-a-fuse on the fuse panel, but don't know which spot will support them.
Since our bulbs use 80W, am I correct in assuming the amperage is 80/12 = 6.5ish amps? |

You can use connector 4F - Pin 5, which is a light blue wire. It is the ACC switched feed to the CIG and ACC fuses and is fed by the 25A AM2 fuse.
Correct on the current draw calc. Conn 4F.jpg

Why not directly off the battery?

It could be the fact that I've got a Canadian version of the Yaris sedan, but in the engine bay, coming off the headlight harness is a second plug that has 3 (maybe 4) pins on it on. isn't this pre-wired for fog lights? - I haven't added mine yet but hope to this spring

The US yaris is the same for the under hood wiring. I believe he's working on the coil side (switch side) of the fog light circuit, as opposed to the contact side (bulb side). I also think that he used the harness included with the aftermarket fogs, as opposed to the OEM wiring method.

I'm actually not even using a relay. Just +12v from ACC to a switch out to the fogs.
Thanks CTScott. Your electrical genius never ceases to amaze me. |

Do you have the OEM fog lights or an aftermarket kit?
