Now, at 50lbs I really doubt you'll have an issue...but that's where it starts, it ends upside-down on the freeway after you've gotten complacent with Your "experiments" and normally I'd say it's your life, do with it as you please...but when it comes to driving you have to consider the lives of the people around you, that's what's really at stake here.

Selfish? I don't see how it is selfish to try to maximize you miles and minimize cost.

You need to climb down off that high horse. Most of the people on here seem to not have any safety impacts and the savings appear to be very common sense.

You are more than entitled to your opinion, just as we are entitled to ours. But it isn't selfish....but maybe you don't really understand the meaning of the word.
