You can also replace the whole shaft with a rebuilt unit. I'm checking for bearing "howl" myself on my car. Mabye it was the road I was on, I'll have to keep listening for it.
I've been tempted to trade it in for a new Corolla while gas is still such a ripoff... Those Corollas are pretty SWEET!
