No, the old alternator went from charging day in and day out 13.80v to 14.2+ volts when the noise came. 100% sure it was the alternator bearing. I then took it to a electric motor/alternator repair shop and he said the stator went bad. With the new alternator on the car is back to normal, sound and volt out put
