ADD-ON by Dealers

i was looking/reviewing the new car dealers quotation they gave yesterday,
and saw under - optional dealer installed equipment , the following:
[ w/c the agent did not explain...( maybe trying to sneak in )]

- Phantom Foot - Prints 189.00
- Environment Paint Protection 599.00

Any ideas, what are these? (can't ask them now, it's weekend)
also needs views/experience of co members from yarisworld.

Have anybody experience the same? some ADD ONS by the dealer which you DID NOT know? OR Unnecessary things just to add up the cost?

for sure, a good example is extended warranty for BRAND NEW CARS!

Phantom Foot-Prints is the theft deterrent where they print an ID number all over the place with a UV only visible dye.

Environment Paint Protection is a coating that is supposed to protect the paint from acid rain. Basically, a super expensive waxing job.

Definitely not. They really are just ways for the dealer to stick his hand deeper into your pocket.

Romram check this site out http://www.carbuyingtips.com/

I learned so many things from that site and I avoided a few "scams" that a dealership tried to pull on me. It's worth the read.
