You're probably hitting 15 MPH which is respectable. But when I say "fast" I mean hitting 32 MPH with a loaded trailer on the back side of Huffaker Hills, or 39 MPH on a steep hill near where my wife works in Caughlin Ranch. While neither of those are speed records for a bicycle a fixie's cranks would be going ape shit at those speeds.

I ate shit once at just over 30 MPH on a steep asphalt road....helmet saved my life. I had a shop switch out a flat for me(at the top of the 3 mile hill) they put a tire that was too wide on, my brake caliper ended eating into the sidewall until it hit the tube, popped the tube which wrapped around my front forks vaulting me over the bars and onto the pavement. No broken bones, but there were rocks literally sticking out of my helmet, they would have been in my skull...plus all the usual rash you'd expect(some on my face). Good times
