How to change radiator fluid/
Well the car is a bit over 110k and I figure it's time to change the radiator fluid, as well as it's starting to get low from evaporating over time ,etc. Is there a writeup or can someone put up a step by step on a proper way to drain the fluid and refill it? Thanks!

That's not a link but it's where to go on this forum. Find that and it will link you to the service manual for the 07. Things haven't changed that much so it should help you out. Did mine not to long ago. if you have any questions shoot me a PM. |

the new green prestone 50/50 premix that works on ANY car ANY cooling system
(says on bottle) will work fine anywhere Toyota red is specified otherwise, stick with Toyota red from the dealer and u cannot go wrong old-school prestone green is NOT recommended |

On my ECHO you just opened the radiator drain and take the radiator cap off. Engine is cold! All the coolant the book says is in there came out
Close the drain and fill with 50/50 mix of coolant and water. Start the engine and warm it up until the coolnt level in the radiator goes down. Top up the radiator and rstart. Keep filling it until it doesnt go down anymore. Yaris is the same? |

Doing mine....I drained the
1. Radiator 2. Block via the valve on the backside of the engine 3. Overflow tank on the side of the radiator Did I get it all? Nope......Pull the fixture where the bottom radiator hose attaches at the engine behind which is the thermostat. If you easily pry out the thermostat you will see a cavity. That's where the remainder will be. Anyway I caught the fluid and measured comparing to amount required and I got it all. |
